In his speech, Comrade Mao Zedong quoted many thoughts of Confucius, Confucianism and various schools of thought. I also quoted a lot of Confucius in my speech. After more than two thousand years of history and examination, we can see more clearly the value of Confucius' thought today. There are many coups in respect of Confucius, anti Confucius and derogatory holes in history. Now we see clearly and have reached a consensus on Confucius's essence. Confucius has a great influence on the thought of human progress and civilization and the Sinicization of Marxism.

I have two feelings about the traditional culture. On the one hand, I feel that the traditional culture has been destroyed, especially in the cultural revolution. I criticize everything, and the good things of the ancestors have been rejected, such as the dignity of teachers. The internal injury is great. Until now, there are still negative effects. Under the banner of rational rebellion, everything can be destroyed. After the reform and opening up, the decadent things of the bourgeoisie and capitalism came in with commodities. It has a double impact on traditional culture. The cultural revolution, capitalism after the reform and opening up, and decayed things in the asset stage, so that many social phenomena make people sigh with regret: People's hearts are not old!

On the other hand, we feel that traditional culture is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people and is the inheritance of the spiritual gene of the Chinese nation. For example, some farmers are illiterate, and his behavior of expressing thanks reflects this influence everywhere. It is reflected in overseas Chinese, Chinese descendants and Chinese Americans. Some of them have been overseas for several generations and can't speak Chinese any more. However, their behavior and thinking mode are "very Chinese", and the influence of traditional culture is very great. The basic criteria of value judgment, such as right and wrong, beauty and ugliness, good or bad, are traditional culture.

Over the past few years, the world's "Confucius fever" has been enduring. I have visited many Confucius Institutes and attended many opening ceremonies. In this respect, the international demand is great, and the supply exceeds the demand. At present, teachers can't keep up with it. There is a large demand for talents with high level of foreign language and Chinese. There is a great demand in both eastern and Western countries. Some countries which are ideologically biased towards us are also open to Confucius Institutes. The reason is that the "ultimate theory of capitalism" has been shaken in politics, the miracle of socialist development, the defeat of western capitalism, the financial crisis, the debt crisis, and the crisis of trust have shaken confidence.

Western countries began to reflect and compare China's politics, economy and road openly or secretly. For example, when Catholicism discusses Confucian culture, foreign heads of state, presidents, prime ministers and prime ministers talk to me, saying that they must call Confucius. They are proud to say more of Confucius' words and "drop their schoolbags.". This shows that our country's discourse power has been enhanced, the soft power of culture has been enhanced, and the Confucian culture, Confucius and traditional culture have been influential. Confucius research has become a worldwide topic and put forward new requirements. We should take the initiative in the East Asian cultural circle through in-depth research under the guidance of forces. In order to spread Confucianism in the world, China should maintain full discourse power.

To do well in the dissemination of Confucianism, we should make clear the following four points:

First, it is clear that each country and nation has different historical traditions, cultural deposits and basic national conditions, and its development path must have its own characteristics;

The second is to make it clear that Chinese culture is the deepest spiritual pursuit of the Chinese nation, which is the rich nourishment for the continuous growth and development of the Chinese nation;

The third is to make it clear that the excellent traditional Chinese culture is the outstanding advantage of the Chinese nation and our deepest cultural soft power. Some foreign heads of state look at the great wall and feel that the Chinese people love peace. Instead of attacking and invading, they defend their homeland. I think the Great Wall is also a symbol of cohesion. Foreign things will become endogenous things after they come in. The Chinese nation is integrated and we must localize the foreign things. It is also our native Buddhism. So I say that to recognize cultural diversity, we must recognize political pluralism;

Fourth, it should be made clear that socialism with Chinese characteristics is rooted in the fertile soil of Chinese culture, reflects the wishes of the Chinese people, and adapts to the development and progress requirements of China and the times, and has a profound historical origin and a broad practical basis. To tell the story of China well, like Confucius, we should teach students according to their aptitude. We should have different ways of expression that can resonate with different objects.
